counter-strike guns
With Counter-Strike, as well with other MODs and games, you can usually find certain techniques to master your gameplay. These strategies are placed here to give you a basic understanding of the weapons and equipment.

Knife
Everyone has one of these. Causes lots of damage and (obviously) doesn't require reloading.
Tips: Use when you're completely out of ammo.
Tricks: When you're up close to an enemy, use the Alternate Fire button and slice into them for double-the-damage.

Heckler & Koch .45 USP Tactical
The default Counter-terrorist gun. Its recent facelift has left it as one of the most used sidearms in CS for both sides. It packs a lot of bang for its buck and has an optional silencer.
Tips: If you've got good aim, take a few shots for the head. If not, try to knock your opponent back by hitting him in the chest a few times and then finish them off with a well-placed head shot. Duck and fire for extra-accurate shots. This will, however, leave you prone to attack; so make sure you hit your target first.

Glock 18 Select Fire
This default Terrorist weapon has two modes of fire: semi-automatic or burst. Both are reasonably accurate. This gun's high rate of fire leaves room for error, though this comes at the expense of power.
Tips: This gun fires much faster than the USP, but it also causes less damage. The best thing to do is circle-strafe your opponent while shooting. Especially if they have a powerful gun such as the Desert Eagle.
Tricks: Use burst fire up close, and semi-automatic from afar.

Desert Eagle .50AE
The most powerful handgun in Counterstrike. An well-placed shot to the face will take out any opponent, regardless of armor or health. It will also shoot through boxes/walls up close.
Tips: Because of it's extreme power, the DE only holds 7 shots per clip. Make sure you've "locked onto" your enemy before you start squeezing off rounds.
Tricks: Try using it as a "finisher." Take a few shots with your primary weapon to injure your enemy and screw up their aim, then pull out the DE and finish them off with 1 or 2 shots. Make sure you always have all 7 bullets in the magazine before you rush into a fight.

SIG P228
Fast-firing and powerful. A very overlooked killer.
Tips: You've got 13 rounds of fun in the SIG P228. Aim for mid-chest and three shots should finish off an unarmored opponent.
Tricks: If you're stuck in money limbo and can't afford an mp5 or TMP/MAC10, try this out. With kevlar, you should be able to take out weakened enemies.

FN FiveseveN
A smooth, low power but high-accuracy sidearm. Very good for those with slick handling skills.
Tips: Aim high for a quick headshot. Keep pumping your enemy with lead after you knock out his/her aim.

Beretta Elites
A quick-firing, low damage, low accuracy, high cost duo. Good for slinging about 8000 shots into your opponent.
Tips: Here's a great tip! Don't buy these. Very rarely will you ever get a chance to squeeze off this many shots without dying first. Find a better way to spend a grand. If you absolutely must be John Woo, aim at the chest because these things kick like a wild horse getting stung in the ass by a swarm of bees.

Benelli M3 Super 90 Tactical
A very efficient close-range killer. Inexpensive and powerful, the Benelli M3 Super 90 does its job surprisingly well.
Tips: This is not a sniper rifle. Don't treat it like one. If you see an enemy in the distance, dodge his shots and let him come to you. Only use this gun up close, and keep 8 shells in the chamber at all times.
Tricks: Aim for the neck/very upper chest. Your spread will put more holes in them than a heavily tatooed body piercer sleeping on a bed of nails.

xm1014 (M4 Super 90)
Fast, powerful, relatively inexpensive. Hold down the trigger and deal some damage.
Tips: Use the 7 rounds you get wisely. Nothing's worse than getting caught in the middle of a firefight with your virtual pants down.
Tricks: Get up close and unload on your opponent. Keep shooting until all that's left is a splat on the ground. If you get in trouble, don't wait to reload, pull out a pistol (DE works best) and finish them off.

Heckler & Koch MP5 Navy
One of the most popular guns in Counterstrike. Certainly the SMG of choice for most players. Holds 30 shots per clip.
Tips: Although the MP5 can be used for long distance shooting, it's much better up close. It's high rate of fire gives the enemy very little time to react before they bite the dust.
Tricks: In real life, SWAT teams use this on single-fire mode. You should either do the same or burst. Do not go full auto unless you aim at your opponent's feet.

Steyr TMP (Tactical Machine Pistol) - CTs only
A silenced alternative for the Counter-terrorists. Inexpensive and underestimated. Few realize the power this gun can wield in the right hands.
Tips: Though shadowed by the MP5, the Steyr TMP is an efficient substitute when you're in financial trouble.
Tricks: For best results, aim at heart-level and burst 3-4 shots. You could also tap the fire button to keep the recoil down and conserve ammo.

FN P90
Very fast, very powerful and somewhat accurate, the 50-round clip of the FN P90 can be a dominating force when used correctly.
Tips: Powerful and fast, but don't try to snipe with this puppy. After about 200 yards, you've got about as much of a chance hitting your target while spraying as getting a date with Shakira.
Tricks: With its larger magazine capacity, this is a great close-quarters gun for people who can't aim.

Mac-10 - Ts only
The TMP of the terrorist faction. Not silenced, but more powerful.
Tips: Once again, the underrated alternative to the MP5 when money is scarce.
Tricks: Back in Beta 5.2, this gun was basically an automatic sniper rifle. Nowadays, however, you should duck and burst fire if you want to hit your target.

UMP
A costly upgrade to the mp5. If you've got the cash, this puppy can do some damage. It's combination of damage coupled with accuracy leave it a very underestimated sub machine gun.
Tricks: Aim for mid chest and lay about 4 shots into them. The last two should be at good head level. It also purrs like a kitten, making it the winner of the CS "cutie pie" award!

AK-47 - Ts only
The cheapest rifle in the game. It's got power and speed at the cost of accuracy and ammo capacity.
Tips: Can shoot through boxes/thin walls.
Tricks: Very loud and can rip through ammo very quickly. Strangely, if you duck, you can usually dispose of anyone in 1 or 2 shots as long as you aim high. Don't shoot this while running or standing up.

SSG-552 Commando - Ts only
An absolutely dominating gun. When put in the right hands, the Commando can win a match.
Tips: Powerful enough to shoot through boxes/thin walls.
Tricks: Duck and burst. The SSG-552 has a wide spread making it very inaccurate unless in single-fire mode.

Colt M4A1 Carbine - CTs only
Accurate, powerful, less expensive than the AUG. The Colt M4A1 is probably the most used CT gun in the game.
Tips: Can shoot through boxes/thin walls. Also has a silencer for sneak attacks.
Tricks: More powerful when left unsilenced, but less accurate. For those of you who can get headshots from across the map, leave the silencer off. If you find that it's spread is too wild, put the silencer on, but be warned, you'll have to lay more shots into your opponent.

AUG - CTs only
A great choice for snipers who need an automatic. It's powerful and has a zoom feature.
Tips: Obviously ducking will give you the most accuracy, as will burst-firing.
Tricks: Using the zoom will drop your accuracy, so it might be a good idea to only use it to see over longer distances.

A1 Arctic Warfare Magnum/Police
The most controversial gun in Counterstrike. The most popular sniper rifle amomgst newbies and veterans alike. Torso and headshots are guaranteed one-shot-kills.
Tips: Very accurate as long as you're not jumping or running. Strafe in and out of cover while zoomed to pick off those pesky ak/colt users.
Tricks: Buy a Desert Eagle along with the AWP. Use the DE for up-close combat and running. This gun lacks a crosshair when not zoomed.

Steyr Scout
Coming in much cheaper than the AWP, the Steyr Scout is the rifle of choice for some, while for others it's a good backup when you're lacking cash.
Tips: Not quite as accurate as the AWP, and less powerful. Stay hidden and crouched and aim for the head/heart.
Tricks: Don't run around while shooting, you won't hit anything.

Heckler & Koch G3/SG-1 Sniper Rifle (T ONLY)
If you've got the money and lack confidence in your aim, buy this automatic sniper rifle to give yourself the upper hand.
Tips: Stay crouched and don't panic. You've got 20 shots per clip and they'll all be relatively accurate if used in single-shot mode.
Tricks: Stay calm and follow your target. You can penetrate some walls and boxes, so don't be afraid to keep shooting after your enemy runs behind cover.

Sig 550 (CT ONLY)
Does anyone use this? Probably should. Even though it would give Bill Gates financial trouble, it's massive clip and superb accuracy would make anyone back off.
Tricks: Duck, zoom in twice and hold down the trigger. It'll fire a nice straight diagonal line, giving your opponent a pretty little wound.

FN M249 PARA
The only machine gun in Counterstrike. It comes in as the most expensive gun and is VERY difficult to master. Only use if you're financially secure and feel comfortable using it.
Tips: Because of the gun's nature, it's not accurate at all and doesn't need to be with it's massive 100-round magazine. Duck when shooting.
Tricks: Do not lead the attack with this gun. Stay back and wait for enemies to come for you. COVERING FIRE!!!!!!

Kelvar Vest (& Helmet)
Your basic set of armor. Covers your torso, arms and legs. Combine with a helmet for added protection
Tips: Buy whenever you can. It WILL save your life. Be warned, higher caliber guns will rip right through it.
Tricks: Get the helmet too. Your brain is important.

Flashbang
Throw to blind enemies and give yourself an opportunity to rush past or attack.
Tips: Throw around corners and be sure to turn your back so you don't become a victim yourself.
Tricks: Do not throw in crowded areas because you will blind both friend and foe alike.

High Explosive Grenade (aka HE Gren)
Throw to damage your enemies and give yourself a health advantage.
Tips: Throw this to cause opponents to retreat or die.
Tricks: Don't get caught in the blast radius yourself. If FF is on, watch for teammates before you throw.

Smoke Gas Grenade (aka SG Gren)
Produces a cloud of smoke that acts as a curtain for distraction or movement across a dangerous area.
Tips: Don't rush into the cloud. Stay behind it
Tricks: Try not to throw and then rush through, as most veterans will expect this. Instead, run around another way or wait a while, THEN attack.

Defuser Kit
Lowers the amount of time it takes the Counter-terrorists to defuse the bomb.
Tips: Make sure the area is clear and you give yourself 5 seconds to defuse.
Tricks: Bring a couple of teammates with you to watch your ass.

Nightvision Goggles
Having a little trouble seeing when the lights are out? Join the human race, friend! Toss these puppies on and enjoy your new set of green eyes.
Tips: Uhh... put them on when it's dark.it dose help a bit lol
